rants from a twenty-something ep. 9

It’s been quite a while since I have written a substantial entry. To my faithful ones, I’m sorry for that. Transition periods seem to visit rather frequently these days & I have no idea where I am going to be from one day to the next. It’s rather exhausting, while it also exhilarates me to the bone. A lot of my journal writing has been in my personal, handwritten journals here at home as I have been traveling on a path of full self discovery. I feel as if I constantly write about change that I am under, however, that is just exactly what is happening in my life.

I have been rereading one of my favorite books, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and this quote really spoke to me…“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too”. This quote really resonated with me, because I have been working extremely hard to build not only my businesses, but to better myself with each breath I take. As I have been doing so, things in my realm of the world have been progressing in quite an expected way. My health and fitness philosophies are rubbing off on others and in turn, the lives and bodies of my friends, family and clients are undergoing sufficient change as well. I am learning more and more each day to be selfless and understand that true happiness (in my book) comes from helping other people. I was the girl concerned solely with myself, fashion, celebrities, emptily socializing, my hair and beauty products… seriously and yeah.. I know, how lame. At the end of the day, I had nice things and my hair was always awesome ;), but before I laid my head down on my pillow at night, I realized there was something truly substantial missing from my life. It wasn’t until someone selflessly extended a hand to me and unknowingly opened up this secret passion in my heart and changed my life in every way possible. A simple gesture of non-judgement kindness changed my heart & changed my future.

For that person, I am thankful.

So here I am, a twenty-something girl, on a journey to helping as many people as I can find true, healthy lives. My intentions as a woman are to give to those who need until all I have to give is gone. I hope you can open your heart and do the same.

Happy Humpday, y’all.
